SEND

At Nether Edge we value ourselves as being an inclusive mainstream school committed to providing an enriched curriculum to meet the needs of all children. Your child's happiness and wellbeing is of paramount importance to us.

We follow the legal recommendations as set out in

Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) is Harriet Stevenson. If you have any concerns regarding your child, please do not hesitate to contact her via the school office.

Specialist Resource Provision

At Nether Edge Primary School we opened a Specialist Resource Provision in September 2024. This provision is at the heart of our school. Like all the other classes in our school, this class is also named after a gem stone. The Special Resource Provision class name is Moonstone.

The focus and aim is about ensuring the children in the provision access the right learning for their needs, in the right environment and with the best adults to support them. We want to make the biggest difference we can for them, like every member of our school community, therefore their curriculum, environment and routines are extremely well-considered and implemented.

Our Specialist Resource Provision is different to an Integrated Resource, it is more specialist. All the children in Moonstone class are pre-verbal or they are in the early stages of language development. The children in our setting spend a majority  or all of their day in the Specialist Resource Provision.

The prime need of our Specialist Resource Provision is Social and Communication Needs. It has 15 places for primary aged children who live in the locale.

If you would like to find out more about or visit our Specialist Resource Provision please contact the school.
